Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 9, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Vygram ("we", "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use the Vygram website (vygram.com) and mobile application (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your display name, username, password (stored in hashed form), gender, and date of birth. If you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from that provider. We never receive or store your Google or Facebook password.

Content you create. Posts, photos, videos, short videos (reels), stories, comments, likes, sounds, captions, voice messages, and text messages you send.

Live streaming. When you start or join a live stream, your camera and/or microphone stream is transmitted in real time to other participants through our streaming provider (Agora). Live streams are not recorded or stored by Vygram after the stream ends.

Activity information. Who you follow, accounts you block, profile visits (the last 30 visitors of a profile are shown to its owner), gifts sent and received, and virtual coin (VyCoins) balances and transactions.

Technical information. Your approximate country (derived from your IP address), device language, and basic device/browser information needed to run the Service. We do not collect your precise GPS location.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: operate the Service and show your profile and content to other users; deliver messages, live streams, and notifications; personalize your feed and recommendations; process virtual gifts and coins; keep the Service safe (spam and abuse prevention, enforcing our Terms); and respond to your support requests.

3. Who Can See Your Content

Content you post (posts, reels, stories, live streams, profile information) is visible to other users of the Service. Stories expire automatically after 24 hours. Direct messages are visible only to you and the recipient. If your account is set to private, new followers must be approved before seeing your posts.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We rely on trusted providers to run Vygram. They process data only to provide their service to us:

Google Firebase (Google LLC) — authentication, database, and hosting. Your account data and content are stored on Firebase servers.
Agora — real-time transmission of live audio/video streams and calls.
Cloudinary — storage and delivery of uploaded photos and videos.
Google Sign-In / Facebook Login — optional sign-in methods; they share your basic profile (name, email, photo) with us when you choose them.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we do not share it with advertisers.

5. Permissions We Request

Camera — to take photos/videos, record reels, and broadcast live.
Microphone — for live streams, voice messages, and calls.
Photos/Storage — to upload media from your device and download media you choose to save.

Permissions are requested only when you use the related feature, and you can revoke them anytime in your device settings.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely on Google Firebase infrastructure, protected by encryption in transit (HTTPS) and Firebase security rules. Passwords are stored only in hashed form. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard measures.

7. Data Retention & Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account inside the app. This permanently deletes your account, profile, posts, and stories. Some residual data (such as your comments on other users\' posts or messages you sent to others) may remain and will be removed within 30 days upon request. To request full deletion of residual data, or to request deletion without accessing the app, email us at privacy@vygram.com from the address linked to your account.

8. Children

Vygram is not intended for children under 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your country). We require your date of birth at sign-up and do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 is using the Service, contact us at safety@vygram.com and we will remove the account.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these rights directly in the app (Edit Profile, Delete Account), or by contacting us at support@vygram.com.

10. Cookies & Local Storage

Vygram uses local storage on your device to keep you logged in and remember your preferences (theme, language). We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

11. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK users)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data on these legal bases: performance of a contract (providing the Service you signed up for), legitimate interests (keeping the Service safe, preventing abuse, improving features), consent (optional features such as camera/microphone access, which you may withdraw at any time), and legal obligations where applicable.

12. International Data Transfers

Vygram is available worldwide. Your information is stored and processed on servers operated by our providers (Google Firebase, Agora, Cloudinary), which may be located outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union. These providers maintain industry-standard safeguards for international data transfers.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated Policy.

Child Safety

Vygram has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). Users can report child safety concerns directly in the app from posts, videos, live streams, comments, private messages and profiles. Confirmed violations result in permanent account termination and are reported to the relevant authorities. Read our full Child Safety Standards. Contact: safety@vygram.com.
