Who is Mahran Samtouni?
Mahran Samtouni (in Arabic: مهران سمتوني) is a Tunisian developer and entrepreneur, born on 13 November 2000. He is the founder of Vygram (فيجرام), a social app for live streaming, PK battles, short videos, stories, private messages and calls.
He started working on Vygram on his own in 2016 and kept building it over the years. The app officially launched in 2026 on Google Play, in Arabic, English and French.
Mahran designed and built the product himself: live streaming with guests and PK battles, the video editor, private messages and groups, the creator wallet and withdrawals, and the safety and reporting tools.
His idea is simple: creators in Tunisia, North Africa and the Arab world should earn from their content, and users’ data should never be sold. That is why Vygram’s motto is “We pay you. We don’t sell you.”
What he built
- Live streaming, guests and PK battles
- Short videos and a full video editor
- Private messages, groups and calls
- Gifts, Vycoins and withdrawals for creators
- Reporting, privacy controls and child safety
